AVEDON AT THE ICP

Richard Avedon, my choice for all-time best portrait photographer, is more known for his celebrity portraits and interesting environmental portraiture, than his fashion work.  That being said, in his 56 years spanning the fashion industry, he pioneered many techniques that are used, copied, emulated, honored, by others- bringing models out of the studio and into a real environment and action shots to name a few.  WIth this in mind, the International Center for Photography is finally hosting an exhibit exclusively of his body of fashion work (175 images according to Men.style.com).  The exhibit runs through the beginning of September at the ICP in NYC.
