MYSTERY OF DESIGN

Design is magic by other means. It is capable of inflating commonplace, unremarkable and insignificant things with special meaning and elevating them to breathtaking sentimental altitudes - such pedestrian things as a parking lot and a picnic area. It takes a pile of untreated wood to turn an inhospitable and uninviting place into a charming and captivating destination.

“It’s just a tiny little line,” says Marte Danbolt of the Oslo-based Code Arkitekter group speaking of a boardwalk of their creation, which runs alongside a large mountain range on the coast of Senja, an island in the far north of Norway.
